For Gibbons, it’s business as usual

Sean Gibbons will be spending Christmas and probably New Year’s Eve surrounded by people not related to him.

But it doesn’t mean that Gibbons is going to be one of the loneliest in the world during those key family moments.

You see, Gibbons would still be in working mode during the holidays because two of his fighters are scheduled to fight two days after Christmas in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

“On Christmas Fay, we would be doing a press conference and on the day after Christmas, we’ll have the weigh-in then the fight the following day,” Gibbons reported from the Saudi Arabian capital.

You’d probably think that he would finally get the chance to rush back home to Las Vegas so he can reunite with his wife and kids.

But Gibbons won’t get the opportunity to do just that.

Instead of heading home to recharge, he will be staying behind in the Middle East and catch a flight to Dubai towards the end of 2025.

“Will be seeing Manny Pacquiao in Dubai,” he said.

Gibbons does have a lot on his plate.

He represents almost every Filipino fighter who matters in the world of boxing.

He has close ties with Pacquiao and is the go-to-guy to world champions Melvin Jerusalem and Pedro Taduran and so many other local talents like Olympic medalist Eumir Marcial.

Outside the Philippines, Gibbons also has a say in the affairs of world champions and leading contenders, making him a very influential figure, someone all four major sanctioning bodies put on a pedestal.

While some people might see his dedication to boxing as ordinary, one can’t deny the guy’s love towards the sport.
