The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) on Monday said it has intensified actions against fake Facebook pages and accounts impersonating the commission, warning the public against engaging with unauthorized online platforms.

NAPOLCOM Chief Commissioner Rafael Vicente R. Calinisan said the proliferation of bogus social media pages undermines public trust and exposes citizens to potential online scams.

“We will not tolerate misrepresentation that deceives the public and damages the credibility of government institutions. NAPOLCOM is taking decisive steps to stop these fraudulent activities,” Calinisan said.

The commission has issued an internal directive instructing all personnel nationwide to mass report fake Facebook pages. It has also established a centralized reporting mechanism to document and validate impersonating accounts to ensure the prompt takedown of fraudulent pages. Public advisories have likewise been intensified through NAPOLCOM’s official platforms.

To further inform the public, NAPOLCOM said it will publish a partial list of identified fake Facebook page names on its official Facebook page, strictly for public awareness and reporting purposes.

The commission reiterated that it maintains only one official Facebook page, @NationalPoliceCommission, and does not request payments, personal information, or documents through unofficial or unverified social media accounts. The public was urged to verify sources and report suspicious pages through official NAPOLCOM channels.

NAPOLCOM assured the public that it will continue strengthening its digital safeguards to uphold transparency, integrity, and accountability.
