Shell Pilipinas Corporation, through Shell Rimula, wrapped up its 2025 “Bida Ang Biyahe Ko” program after a run that stretched from earlier this year to October.

The campaign went on the road and met drivers and mechanics where the work happens. It made stops in Davao, Cebu, La Union, Caloocan and Laguna. Shell said the program reached an estimated 250 participants across the tour.

Organizers tied the effort to changes in the transport sector. Online shopping has kept deliveries busy, and fleets now face tighter schedules and heavier loads. In this setup, the people behind the wheel and the people under the hood deal with most of the pressure.

At each stop, the program mixed hands-on activities with short learning sessions. There were skills challenges for drivers and mechanics. There were technical talks and reminders on basic maintenance and road safety. Wellness activities were also part of the day.

‘BIDA ang Biyahe Ko!’ brought skills challenges, technical learning sessions, and wellness activities to provinces nationwide.

A major focus was road readiness. Speakers discussed road signs, defensive driving, and habits that help reduce mistakes on the road. The sessions also highlighted proper vehicle upkeep, as breakdowns and neglected maintenance often lead to bigger problems.

One segment tackled periodic maintenance and the routine work that keeps trucks safe to operate. Bryan M. Landicho, a Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) assessor, said the seminars remind drivers that following the correct maintenance process plays a role in daily safety.

Ariel del Rosario, an LTO-accredited lecturer and road safety instructor, said road safety is a shared responsibility.

Drivers who completed the first two stages of the program qualified for TESDA NC I certification. Organizers described this as a practical way to recognize skills and support career growth, especially for workers whose experience is gained on the job.

Wellness support was included at each location. The program offered free eye checkups and prescription glasses to help address eyesight strain that can affect drivers during long hours on the road.

Meng Manapul Peret, Shell Rimula brand manager, said Shell aims to support the transport community through programs that promote driver well-being and help workers build skills through training and recognition.
