The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has deployed a Mobile Command Center (MCC) along the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) to monitor traffic and provide on-the-spot assistance for motorists during the 2025 holiday travel rush.

Positioned along a central stretch of SLEX, the MCC is a fully equipped mobile unit that tracks live road conditions and coordinates responses to incidents such as accidents, stalled vehicles, and congestion. The system allows LTO personnel to communicate with highway patrol and emergency response teams to minimize travel delays.

The MCC includes a vehicle verification system that scans passing vehicles for registration status, stolen vehicle alerts, and unapproved modifications. This function enables LTO personnel to address compliance issues immediately, reducing potential hazards from unregistered or improperly modified vehicles.

LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao oversaw the MCC operations and joined field enforcers in interacting with motorists, addressing travel concerns, and supervising the unit’s support services. Motorists can approach the MCC to report accidents, request emergency assistance, or obtain real-time traffic updates for SLEX and connecting routes.

The mobile hub is also equipped with AI-powered traffic cameras to verify vehicle details, monitor compliance with traffic rules, and support faster resolution of road incidents.

The MCC will operate 24 hours a day until the end of the New Year holiday period, forming part of the LTO’s nationwide program to enhance road safety and provide assistance to travelers.
