Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Acting Director P/Col. Randy Glenn Silvio said on Saturday that authorities have apprehended three suspects involved in the robbery of a six-wheeler delivery truck carrying high-value electronic items. The manhunt for the remaining suspects continues.

Investigators said that on 12 December at around 9:45 a.m., the driver and helper of MBTA Resources Inc. were en route to deliver electronic goods to forwarding companies in Manila. They made a brief stop at a carinderia along Betty Go-Belmonte Street, Quezon City, when nine armed suspects forcibly took control of their truck, loaded with JBL speakers, computer parts, and accessories valued at P1.9 million, and locked the driver and helper inside the cargo compartment.

The suspects drove the truck toward Bulacan and later released the victims at a vacant lot along Pandi Road, Pandi, Bulacan. The victims contacted their company, which reported the incident to CIDG Camp Crame. A police alarm was issued, and the case was referred to Kamuning Police Station 10 for investigation.

A composite team from Police Station 10, in coordination with the Bulacan Provincial Police Office, identified the stolen truck along Plaridel Bypass Road. The cargo had been transferred to another truck and transported toward NLEX, exiting at R-10 en route to Tondo, Manila.

Investigators said suspect Jereme voluntarily confessed his participation and identified Jason as a cohort. Subsequent operations led to the arrest of suspects alias “Malabad” and “Christian” along Pasig Boulevard on 14 December. During interrogation, Malabad disclosed the location of Jason Ignas in Brgy. Kapasigan, where authorities recovered one Harman JBL PartyBox 720, though Ignas was not present.

Malabad also identified another suspect, alias “Alastair,” initially presented as the buyer of the stolen items. A stakeout at his Tondo residence did not result in his arrest.

Suspects Jereme, Christian, and Malabad are now in police custody and will face charges of qualified theft, robbery, and carnapping under Republic Act No. 10883 before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office. Operations to apprehend the remaining suspects and recover all stolen items are ongoing.

“The QCPD assures the public that operations to arrest the remaining suspects and recover all stolen items will continue, reiterating its commitment to safeguarding public safety and commercial transport,” Silvio said.
