Drug horror in GenSan: Four suspects nabbed in college student killing

Gilbert Gorgonio Jr.

GENERAL SANTOS CITY — Police have arrested four alleged drug-linked suspects in the brutal killing of Miyuki Porcari Kim, a 21-year-old graduating college student found stabbed to death inside her home in Barangay Apopong earlier this month.

Kim was discovered lifeless at her residence in Purok DBP on December 8, 2025, with multiple stab wounds. Authorities from Police Regional Office 12 (PRO-12) confirmed that the suspects were identified and arrested through intelligence-driven operations tied to anti-illegal drug enforcement.

Arrests Through Buy-Bust Operations

The suspects—alias “Aron” (22), “Jimboy” (35), “Inday” (52, male), and “Oblong” (28)—are all residents of Barangay Apopong.

Alias Aron and alias Jimboy were arrested during a buy-bust operation along the National Highway in Barangay Tambler on December 13, where police seized 30.6 grams of suspected shabu worth ₱204,000, along with buy-bust money and mobile phones.

Earlier that day, alias Inday was arrested in Barangay Conel, yielding suspected shabu valued at ₱105,400, a tricycle, and other items. Alias Oblong was later apprehended in Barangay Calumpang in a separate anti-drug entrapment operation.

Confession and Alleged Motive

In a police confession, alias Aron admitted acting as a lookout and implicated alias Oblong and alias Inday as the ones who stabbed Kim during an alleged drug-motivated robbery.

According to investigators, the suspects entered Kim’s home on the night of December 7 to look for money. When Kim threatened to report them to her mother, she was stabbed to death. The suspects allegedly cut the electricity and fled aboard a tricycle, one of them wounded and bloodied.

Police also revealed that the suspects were known to the victim’s family, having previously been trusted to deliver food to Kim.

Denials, Probe Ongoing

Alias Oblong denied involvement, claiming he left the area earlier that night. Police said the investigation is ongoing, with forensic evidence, witness statements, and confessions undergoing validation.

Police Warning

PRO-12 Regional Director PBGEN Arnold P. Ardiente said the case underscores how illegal drugs continue to fuel violent crimes.

“This reflects our resolve to relentlessly pursue those behind illegal drugs and ensure justice for the victim,” Ardiente said.

The killing of Miyuki Kim has sent shockwaves through the community, serving as a stark reminder of the deadly consequences of illegal drugs and the violence they breed.
