AboitizPower and the Provincial Government of Bataan reopened five public parks at the Capitol Compound in Balanga City and in the town of Mariveles on 15 December 2025.
Through its private limited partnerships GNPower Mariveles Energy Center Ltd. Co. (GMEC) and GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co. (GNPD), AboitizPower partnered with the provincial government in reopening the Children’s Park and the Tatsulok Park located within the Capitol Compound.
The reopening followed the completion of redevelopment works carried out under a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Provincial Government of Bataan and AboitizPower. The agreement outlines cooperation on the rehabilitation and improvement of selected public spaces.
Members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Bataan, along with Provincial Government–Environment and Natural Resources Department head Raphael De Leon and AboitizPower representative Jim Kirby Baylen, led the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the two parks.
The Children’s Park and Tatsulok Park are public recreational areas within the Capitol Compound that were closed during the redevelopment period. The improvements included upgrades intended to support recreational use by children and families. Specific amenities were enhanced as part of the rehabilitation.
In addition to the parks in Balanga City, three other public parks in Mariveles were also reopened following similar improvement efforts. These include the Landing Memorial Park, Balon Anito Hot Spring Park, and Barangay Malaya Park.
The five parks were redeveloped through coordination between the provincial government and AboitizPower, with the stated objective of improving access to public recreational spaces. The sites are now open to the public following the completion of the rehabilitation works.
