Globe Telecom highlighted how its 5G network can elevate everyday digital experiences as it staged a high-energy, interactive showcase in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), underscoring the technology’s role as more than just a speed upgrade.
The event, which powered up key areas of BGC, began with the unveiling of the Globe 5G Energy Meter at Uptown Mall. This marked the launch of a series of immersive “5G Energy Missions” designed to demonstrate how Globe’s network enhances creativity, productivity, and real-time connection. Globe said it currently has the widest 5G coverage in the Philippines, based on analysis by Ookla of Speedtest Intelligence.
Participants took part in five lifestyle-driven missions highlighting different use cases of 5G technology. These included the Globe 5G EnergyTok, where creators joined a TikTok challenge aimed at generating 500 entries, and the Globe 5G Hyper Move, which challenged fitness enthusiasts to collectively log 500,000 steps using 5G-enabled wearables with real-time tracking.
Another activity, the Globe 5G Building Craft, brought together students from universities including the University of Santo Tomas, Asia Pacific College, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, and Mapua University to collaboratively build an interactive Globe 5G city, showcasing how fast and reliable connectivity supports creative collaboration.
The Globe 5G Quiz Off featured a live digital quiz bee that targeted 500 participants and 500,000 livestream views, demonstrating lag-free interactivity, while the Globe 5G Live Streak, a payday live-selling session with device partner Xiaomi, challenged viewers to reach 100,000 likes and 50,000 comments to highlight how 5G boosts audience engagement.
Following the completion of all missions, Globe awarded 5G-ready learning devices to beneficiary schools during the closing ceremony. Recipient schools included Rizal High School in Pasig City, Signal Village National High School in Taguig City, and General Pio del Pilar High School in Makati City, in line with the company’s digital inclusion initiatives.
