Big bikes roar as Honda rolls out Circuit Experience

DT

A quiet weekday at Batangas Racing Circuit turned loud as big bikes lined up for a full day on track. Helmets were clipped shut. Tires were checked. Riders waited for their turn as engines warmed up under the sun.

Honda Philippines Inc. brought riders, aspiring big bike owners, dealer customers, media, and motovloggers together for the Honda Big Bike Circuit Experience.

The event placed Honda’s larger motorcycles in a setting that matched their purpose, a closed circuit built for speed and control.

Honda said 128 participants joined the activity, each given track time to ride motorcycles that ranged from 500cc machines to the brand’s flagship touring model, the Gold Wing.

The mix meant the paddock felt varied, with sport bikes parked beside heavier machines more often seen on long highway runs.

The activity was the chance to ride without the usual road worries. No traffic. No surprise obstacles. No need to second-guess a corner. On the circuit, riders focused on braking points, throttle control, and lines through each turn. It was a different kind of test ride, one that went beyond short dealer loops and casual street runs.

Once on track, feedback followed a clear pattern. Riders talked about stability through corners and how the bikes stayed planted even as speed picked up.

Several pointed out the smooth power delivery, which made it easier to stay composed on straights and transitions. Control was a common word in conversations back in the pits.

Despite repeated sessions, riders said the balance and ergonomics helped reduce fatigue. Newer riders found confidence as laps went by. More experienced riders fine-tuned their approach and focused on consistency.

The track placed everyone on equal footing, where skill and learning mattered more than background or bike size.

The event also showed how wide the Honda big bike range has become. Smaller displacement models gave riders a friendly entry point, while larger bikes showed how refined they felt when allowed to stretch their legs.

Seeing these motorcycles used as intended changed how some participants viewed them, especially those still on the fence about stepping into the big bike segment.

Honda said the experience fits its push to bring more performance-based activities to local riders. “Honda Big Bikes are built for riders who want real performance they can feel on the track. We’re glad to see so many enthusiasts experience the precision and control our motorcycles are known for,” Lloyd Garces, HPI Fun section manager, said.
