Manila ‘Dojafied’ with Ma Vie world tour

She came, she slayed — and she painted Manila red.

American singer and rapper Doja Cat delivered a powerhouse performance at the Mall of Asia Arena on 7 December, drawing a full-capacity crowd for the sold-out Manila leg of her Ma Vie world tour.

Fans packed the arena hours before showtime, many dressed in bold, Doja-inspired looks that turned the venue into their own personal Met Gala.

The anticipation erupted into deafening cheers as Sailorr — a Vietnamese-American singer and the evening’s front act — took the stage. Her sound blends alt-R&B, neo-soul and bubblegum pop with a raw emotional edge. Known for her genre-bending style, Sailorr pairs delicate vocals and moody melodies with lyrics that balance vulnerability, satire, and fearless self-expression. Her rise to prominence was propelled by the viral track “Pookie’s Requiem” and her acclaimed debut album From Florida’s Finest, which cemented her status as one of alternative pop’s most intriguing new voices.

Then the woman of the hour came.

From the opening beat, Grammy-winning artist Doja Cat launched into a fiery, choreography-packed set powered by razor-sharp visuals and commanding live vocals.

Backed by a full dance crew and striking stage design, she delivered a mix of chart-topping hits — including “Say So,” “Woman,” “Kiss Me More” and “Paint the Town Red” — alongside tracks from her latest musical era. The production featured dynamic LED backdrops, crisp lighting cues and sultry transitions that kept the arena’s energy at a dizzying high throughout the nearly two-hour spectacle.

Living up to their reputation as one of the “loudest crowds,” Filipino fans turned the arena into a citywide sing-along, their voices echoing from the floor to the farthest general admission.

Presented by Live Nation Philippines, the Manila show is part of Doja Cat’s ongoing world tour, which continues across Asia before heading to Europe and eventually returning to the US.
