Netflix has officially announced its latest global action thriller, TYGO, featuring Don Lee (The Roundup franchise, Eternals, Train to Busan), Lee Jin Uk (Squid Game, Sweet Home) and Lisa of BLACKPINK (The White Lotus). The film is produced by Big Punch Pictures and AGBO, with co-production by Nova Film Inc. and B&C Group, bringing together a mix of Korean and international talent within the Extraction universe.

TYGO marks Don Lee’s highly anticipated return to Netflix following the global success of The Roundup series and his Marvel debut in Eternals. “I’m thrilled that this project, which I’ve been developing for years with AGBO, is finally moving into production,” Lee says. “TYGO brings a distinctly Korean identity into the global Extraction universe. We can’t wait to unleash its explosive energy on audiences worldwide.”

Joining him is Lee Jin Uk, whose global recognition stems from hit series like Squid Game. Reflecting on the role, Lee shares, “As a fan of the Extraction franchise, it’s a great honor for me to join this universe. I’m especially excited and grateful to be working with Don, whom I’ve always admired, and with Lisa as well. I’ll do my very best to present a film that lives up to your expectations.”

Making her first major film appearance, Lisa brings her multifaceted talent as a rapper, singer, dancer and actress to the project. “I’m so honored to be a part of this project and grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such incredible actors,” she says. “Being in an action movie has always been a dream of mine, so for my film debut to be such an exciting project feels very special.”

Based on an original graphic novel by Anthony and Joe Russo and Ande Parks, the Extraction franchise is Netflix’s most successful action property, following two record-breaking films produced by AGBO. TYGO is produced by Don Lee (Big Punch Pictures); Anthony and Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, Michael Disco, and Albert J. Kim (AGBO); Won-ki Choi (Nova Film); and Chris S. Lee (B&C Group). Cha Woo Jin wrote the screenplay, and Lee Sang Yong, acclaimed for The Roundup and The Roundup: No Way Out, directs.

Set within the shared Extraction universe, TYGO follows Tygo (Don Lee), a former child soldier turned mercenary who embarks on a revenge mission through Korea’s criminal underworld after a mission goes awry. The film promises high-octane action combined with emotional storytelling, highlighting the precision of Korean filmmaking on a global scale.

“We’re thrilled to explore the world of Extraction through a South Korean lens, teaming up with legendary action star Don Lee and visionary director Lee Sang-yong, whose dynamic choreography exemplifies the world-class craft of Korean cinema. Together, we proudly welcome Lisa, a truly multitalented global phenomenon, and Lee Jin Uk, one of Korea’s most charismatic and versatile actors, to lead our cast alongside Don. We’re also grateful to continue our creative partnership with Netflix. TYGO marks our ninth collaboration and reflects our shared commitment to bold, global storytelling," Russo-Otstot said.

Nova Film chief executive officer Choi Won-ki emphasized the scale and ambition of the production. “Behind TYGO stands a team of seasoned filmmakers and an exceptional cast from Korea and Hollywood, brought together by the global entertainment service Netflix to reach viewers worldwide,” he said.

Chris Lee, chief executive officer of B&C Group, added, “This represents the culmination of years of passion and persistence with our partners at AGBO — a bold, Korea-driven film built from the ground up with a global vision. From inception, we set out to unite world-class talent from all over the world, and this collaboration has surpassed every expectation.”
