The Land Transportation Office (LTO) announced Friday that it has revoked the driver’s license of a vlogger who falsely claimed to be related to the Marcos family and was caught committing several traffic violations in a viral video.

LTO chief Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao said Norman Mangusin, who uses the name “Francis Leo Marcos,” is now banned from driving after he failed to attend the hearing scheduled by the agency’s Intelligence and Investigation Division (IID). The hearing was meant to give him the opportunity to answer for the violations he committed while livestreaming himself on social media.

In the widely circulated video, Mangusin was seen not wearing a seatbelt and using a mobile phone while driving a Ford Expedition SUV. He was also found to be using a fake license plate.

Lacanilao said the agency gave Mangusin a chance to submit a verified comment or explanation to avoid sanctions for violating multiple rules, including Failure to Attach Authorized Motor Vehicle License Plate, Mandatory Use of Seatbelt, Distracted Driving, Reckless Driving, and Improper Person to Operate a Motor Vehicle.

The LTO also issued a show cause order against the vlogger. His SUV was placed under an LTO alarm after records showed it had not undergone roadworthiness inspection at the LTO Motor Vehicle Inspection Facility.

Earlier, the LTO imposed a 90-day preventive suspension on Mangusin following the release of his viral video showing the violations.
