The Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) gave the late Governor Reynante A. Tolentino of Aurora a posthumous award for his involvement in peace and development initiatives in the province.

Held at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City on 04 December 2025, the award was received by his daughter, Mae Ann Tolentino-Mendoza. OPAPRU cited projects carried out during his tenure, which included efforts aimed at encouraging former insurgents in Aurora to reintegrate into society.

Tolentino, who died in September 2025, served as the 9th governor of Aurora from February 2024 until his death on 22 September 2025. During his term, the provincial government declared Aurora to be in a state of stable internal peace and security. The declaration was issued on 13 March 2024, after the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) reported that 15 villages in two municipalities had been cleared of communist insurgency influence.

In December 2024, the province received an award during a National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) event recognizing its peace and development initiatives.

Tolentino also convened regular joint meetings of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), and Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) to coordinate local security and development efforts. He also participated in the launch of a Peace and Development Center with OPAPRU.

Tolentino died at the age of 74.
