The 2025 Le Bal des Débutantes, held on 29 November at the Shangri-La Hotel in Paris, reaffirmed its reputation as one of the world’s most exclusive society events.

Founded in 1958 as the “Crillon Ball” (it was originally held at the Hotel deCrillon until 1973) and relaunched in 1992 by Ophélie Renouard, the ball continues to blend tradition with modernity, introducing young women from high-profile families to society while raising funds for charitable causes.

According to Hindustan Times, among the 19 debutantes who graced the ballroom were three names that drew particular attention.

BRONWYN Vance posing with her proud parents, Angela Bassett and Courtney B. Vance, and brother Slater Vance.

Bronwyn Golden Vance, daughter of Oscar-winning actress Angela Bassett and actor Courtney B. Vance, stunned in a bespoke gown by Stéphane Rolland. The Harvard student was accompanied by her parents, who were spotted dancing joyfully on the floor, adding warmth to the evening’s grandeur.

Lady Araminta Spencer-Churchill, daughter of the Duke of Marlborough, represented British aristocracy with poise. Her presence continued the tradition of Le Bal welcoming European nobility.

Carolina Lansing, granddaughter of legendary fashion designer Carolina Herrera, embodied her family’s sartorial legacy. Her appearance was a highlight for fashion watchers, given Herrera’s enduring influence on haute couture.

The ball was a showcase of haute couture gowns and black-tie elegance, with designers ranging from Carolina Herrera to Christian Dior dressing the debutantes. Bronwyn’s ethereal tulle gown by Rolland stood out for its modern yet regal silhouette, while Lady Araminta and Carolina Lansing leaned into classic couture aesthetics that echoed the event’s old-world glamour.

Often dubbed the “Nepo Baby Ball” in pop culture commentary based on the news site Pedestrian, Le Bal remains a fascinating intersection of celebrity, aristocracy and fashion. Past participants have included Apple Martin (daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow), Lily Collins, Margaret Qualley and Lori Harvey, many of whom have gone on to make their mark in entertainment and fashion.

The Philippines, according to a post by Tatler Philippines, was represented by Alexandra Cruz-Moxey, who wore a Lanvin gown designed by Peter Copping. Alexandra is said to be the daughter of a record label founder and a Filipina-American debutante.

In 2022, Atasha Muhlach, daughter of Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzalez, was among the 18 debutantes in the prestigious ball.

Other Filipinas who debuted at Le Bal are Paloma Urquijo Zobel de Ayala, Natalia Zobel, Monica Urquijo Zobel, Emily Madrigal, Dominique Cojuangco, Monica Concepcion, Kayla Uytengsu and Rocio Zobel,

This year’s edition reinforced the ball’s dual identity: a society rite of passage and a fashion and philanthropic spectacle that continues to capture global attention.
