Holcim Philippines, Inc., the country’s leading partner for sustainable construction, was honored at the 2025 Industrial Safety Awards of the Safety Organization of the Philippines, Inc. (SOPI) held on 27 to 28 November at Solaire Resort in Parañaque City. The recognition underscores the company’s strong commitment to providing a healthy and safe environment for employees, contractors, and partner communities while helping build progress for the people and the planet.
During the event, Holcim Philippines received Safe Man-Hours Awards, which recognize exemplary achievement in maintaining an accident-free work environment across its operations. The awards highlight sustained periods of Zero Lost Time Incidents (LTI) and Zero Fatalities, reflecting the company’s disciplined compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) requirements, proper documentation, and accurate safety performance reporting — a milestone considered especially significant within the heavy industry category, where operational risks are inherently high.
The Safe Man-Hours Award honors companies that consistently maintain accident-free workplaces over significant periods. To qualify, organizations must demonstrate a verified record of Zero LTIs, provide proper documentation from DOLE, and ensure authenticated reporting of their overall safety performance.
These achievements highlight Holcim Philippines’ rigorous implementation of safety standards, behavior-based safety programs, contractor safety development, and capability-building initiatives across all sites.
Holcim Philippines Head of Health, Safety and Environment Catherine Joy Guinto said “Safety is a core value that guides every action we take. SOPI’s recognition should inspire us to raise the bar, uphold consistent standards, and demonstrate discipline in our people and teamwork with business partners. Safety is a responsibility we all share, and through vigilance and commitment, we strengthen our culture and move closer to zero harm”.
The company continues to invest in safety innovations and capability building to align its plants with global standards, reinforcing its commitment to protecting its workforce and promoting safety as a shared responsibility.
