Liza Soberano backs the purr-fect treats for healthier felines

Pauline Joyce Pascual

Liza Soberano — now a proud new cat mom — stepped into the spotlight to celebrate the debut of a brand-new functional paste treat made just for cats.

The “Cat Paste Treats” were revealed and from Liza’s perspective, the appeal was personal: as someone who’s been a long-time advocate for better pet care (first with her dog, Yuna), she now extends that same care to her recently adopted feline BFFs.

She shared how excited she is with this new treat line, Prof. Bengal, the feline-focused sister brand of Dr. Shiba, because it’s not just about giving cats a snack, but giving them something nutritious and beneficial that also fits her lifestyle as a pet parent.

What’s the deal with these Cat Paste Treats? They’re not your typical indulgent snack. Instead, they’re designed as functional paste treats — aimed at combining palatability (because cats can be super picky) with targeted nutrition. Key benefits built into the paste include:

  • Taurine — an essential amino acid for cats. It supports normal vision, healthy heart muscle function, digestion, and overall well-being. Cats can’t synthesize enough taurine on their own, so it’s vital to ensure their diet supplies adequate amounts.

  • Omega-3 rich oils (e.g. salmon oil) — which help maintain healthy skin and a shiny, soft coat, reduce inflammation, and support overall skin/s coat health.

  • Prebiotics or digestively friendly ingredients — to support gut health and help cats digest their food more comfortably. (Many modern cat-food formulas now consider digestive health as part of holistic feline wellness.)

Because of this combo, the paste treats aim to make supplementation or “extra-care nutrition” not only effective but also something cats will actually enjoy — and that cat parents like Liza find easy to integrate into daily life.

This kind of product addresses a real need: in the Philippines, pets are more than just animals — many households treat them as family.

According to a nationwide survey, 64% of Filipino households have pets; among them, about 50% have cats. That means there are a lot of cats out there whose humans might be looking for better — and more enjoyable — nutrition options.
