A new way to shop for Filipino beauty products

This collaboration brings together so many people who share the same vision — editors, experts, brand founders, creators and beauty lovers. It’s a collective edit, built not just on trends but on trust, expertise and genuine curiosity,”

During the golden age of print magazines — from the 1970s to the 1990s — women eagerly turned to lifestyle magazines to discover the latest fashion and beauty trends. Today, while everything is available online, the sheer volume of information can be overwhelming, making it difficult to find products — especially those available in the Philippines — that suit individual beauty needs.

Digital magazine The Beauty Edit and Opus Mall’s concept department store Spatio found the perfect solution: curation, but in a fun and engaging way. They teamed up to make shopping for beauty products simple and special by featuring exclusively Philippine-made products.

On the third floor of Spatio inside Opus Mall, Bridgetowne, Quezon City, visitors will find “The Beauty Edit Gallery,” a series of stations designed like beauty magazine pages brought to life. Here, shoppers can hold and test products while guided by helpful tips displayed at each station.

This editorial-led retail concept combines carefully selected products with expert advice tailored to each shopper’s unique interests, saving time and effort. What makes this concept truly exciting is its celebration of Filipino beauty, craftsmanship, and artistry.

“What excites me most is how this allows us to reimagine what beauty retail can look like,” Martin de Leon, deputy general manager of Spatio, says of this collaboration. “The Beauty Edit brings curation, storytelling and sensorial discovery to the forefront, values that align perfectly with what Spatio stands for. Together, we’re creating a space that feels elevated but also deeply personal, where each product, scent and texture tells a story.”

The gallery is thoughtfully curated by beauty editors, creators and industry experts, helping shoppers discover niche finds, timeless classics, and new trends across haircare, skincare and fragrance. Makeup counters offer mini tutorials where shoppers can learn professional tips while trying out handpicked products in person. This blend of beauty journalism and retail raises the bar in the search for self-care essentials.

“The Beauty Edit at Spatio aims to be an experience, envisioned as a gallery of beauty with purpose. A space where you can see, touch and experience its very heart: discovery with intention, all featuring Filipino brands. This collaboration brings together so many people who share the same vision — editors, experts, brand founders, creators and beauty lovers. It’s a collective edit, built not just on trends but on trust, expertise and genuine curiosity,” said Nicole Limos Morales, founder of The Beauty Edit.

The featured brands include Babe Formula, Bags in the City, Beach Hut, Careline, Ckin, Clocheflame, Dala, Dermtropics, Detail Cosmetics, Dowell, Enigma, Ever Bilena, For Keeps, GP Fragrances, Habitude, Hello Glow, Popique, Pure Culture, Russ & Rose, Scent Studio, Sibol, Small Steps Skin, Tadhana, The Sun People and VMV Hypoallergenics.

“As you move through this gallery, take your time. Read the notes, test the textures, smell the
scents and learn the stories behind the brands. Let curiosity lead you. Because this space was
built for that very feeling — for discovering beauty the way we believe it’s meant to be: fun,
enriching and made with meaning,” Morales added at the launch of the gallery in Spatio.

Research shows that self-care routines like grooming and skincare boost self-esteem and body image, which in turn improve confidence and reduce anxiety. The ritual of applying beauty products can also serve as a mindful, stress-relieving practice that promotes relaxation and a sense of control. Spatio’s The Beauty Edit, the first of its kind locally, is set to redefine the beauty shopping experience and inspire well-being.
