CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — A stolen Suzuki Raider FI motorcycle advertised openly on Facebook Marketplace triggered the arrest of two suspects in Santa Maria, Bulacan, after the victim coordinated with police to stage a successful online entrapment.

The owner, a resident of Dasmariñas City, Cavite, reported the motorcycle missing on November 13 after it vanished outside his home. Three days later, he spotted the ₱60,000 motorcycle posted for sale online and posed as a buyer to arrange a meetup in Barangay Bagbaguin, Santa Maria, on November 16. He immediately informed police about the setup.

Santa Maria police launched a predawn entrapment operation that resulted in the apprehension of “Rino” (25), a motor shop owner, and his helper “Vir” (28), both residents of San Jose del Monte City. The stolen motorcycle was recovered during the arrest.

“Criminals don’t expect victims to track them online. This arrest is a win for community-police teamwork,” said Bulacan Police Director PCol Angel Garcillano, commending the victim’s quick initiative.

The suspects are now facing charges under the Anti-Fencing Law (Presidential Decree 1612) and remain detained at the Santa Maria Municipal Police Station.
