Two Chinese companies in Zhangzhou City have expressed interest in locating in the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) during a back-to-back meeting with the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) delegation in Zhangzhou City, Fujian, China on 12 November 2025.

Led by Administrator and CEO Hussein P. Pangandaman, the AFAB delegation met with the two Zhangzhou companies with the assistance and coordination of the Philippine China Economic Cooperation Industrial Park (PCECIP), the Philippine-Zhangzhou General Chamber of Commerce, and the Zhangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce.

During the meetings, the companies issued Declarations of Support for the Bataan Freeport, signaling interest in developing future projects within the ecozone.

The first Declaration of Support came from Zhangzhou Hengli Electronic Co., Ltd., a clock and watch manufacturer known for producing for brands such as Comtex, Swiza, Seiko, and Chopard, represented by Chairman Shao Yueming.

The second was from Fujian Xiongte Animal Husbandry Co., Ltd., represented by General Manager Liancheng Fang, which is looking to establish quality cattle breeding and growing operations in the FAB to serve both domestic and international markets.

Under the declarations, both companies express willingness to cooperate with AFAB, maintain a working alliance for exchanging ideas, study AFAB’s legal and regulatory framework, and identify potential projects that align with the agency’s development plan and rules.

AFAB, in turn, will facilitate and implement applicable incentives as allowed by law once the projects are duly registered.

The delegation also visited Holli Furniture, which is exploring the possibility of setting up operations in the FAB to supply the domestic market.
