Consumers in Pangasinan and nearby regions can expect more reliable and potentially stable electricity supply as Aboitiz Renewables, Inc., the renewable energy unit of Aboitiz Power Corp., energized its 92.55-megawatt peak (MWp) San Manuel solar power plant.

“This (is) another important step in our renewable energy expansion. Pangasinan’s strong solar potential and available grid connections make it ideal for solar development,” Aboitiz Renewables President Jimmy Villaroman said Thursday.

The San Manuel facility is Aboitiz Renewables’ third solar project in Pangasinan—joining the Cayanga-Bugallon and Laoag sites—and its sixth solar facility overall.

The company has also recently secured NGCP approval for the technical and operational requirements for the 173-MWp Calatrava Solar Power Plant in Negros Occidental, now the largest operating solar and variable renewable energy facility in Visayas.

As of April, ground-mounted solar accounted for 9.6 percent of installed capacity in the national grid.

With over 1,000 megawatts of renewable energy projects in the pipeline, the company continues to deliver reliable clean energy solutions that support both consumers and sustainable growth.
