In a heartfelt post on Facebook, Miss Philippines Earth 2025 Joy Barcoma officially closed her Miss Earth journey with gratitude and grace, reflecting on her Top 8 finish in the 25th-anniversary “Silver Lining” edition of the international pageant.

“Carrying the Philippine sash on the international stage has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” Joy began. Representing the Philippines among 79 delegates from across the world, she looked back on her experience not as a conclusion but as a culmination of resilience, authenticity, and purpose.

A journey of gratitude and growth

For Joy, Miss Earth was more than a competition — it was a transformative passage. “It taught me resilience, gratitude, and the power of authenticity,” she wrote. Her reflection captured the essence of a delegate who understood that beyond the glamour, the true victory lies in growth and impact.

She extended her deepest thanks to her core team — those who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring her vision to life. From stylistic collaborations to emotional support, she honored each name with affection and humor.

To Mark Agbayani, her confidant and right hand, she wrote with candor: “I don’t know how you survived my kamalditahan, but you did!” She thanked Ken Adrienne Batino and Jevin Salaysay for transforming her wardrobe into works of art, and RL Lacanienta for instilling in her the confidence and humility that define true grace.

Her gratitude also extended to her glam team — Mama PJ, Mama Zeea, Ed Mark, and Mama Keiv — for their unwavering care, and to the designers who dressed her for success, particularly Glennze Mark Aquino and Lewis Zarasate for her stunning Kalabaw Gown.

Representing the Philippines with pride

Joy’s appreciation reached the Miss Earth Organization, led by Sir Mon, Tita Lorraine, Tita Peachy, and the Carousel Productions family, for creating an empowering space where she could be her authentic self. “I don’t know of any other organization that supports authenticity the way Miss Earth does,” she shared.

She also thanked the City Government of Bacoor, Mayor Strike Revilla, Cong. Bryan Revilla, and several national officials for their consistent belief in her cause and capabilities.

For Joy, representing the Philippines was never about winning a crown — it was about embodying purpose. “This fight was, and will always be, for you,” she told her Filipino supporters. “Every step I took, every answer I gave, every smile I wore, I carried the heart of the Filipino with me.”

Friendship, family, and love

Amid the competition, Joy found solace in her circle of friends, fellow delegates, and loved ones. She credited her Eco Group sisters for their laughter, kindness, and inspiration, emphasizing how Miss Earth’s global sisterhood empowered her spirit.

She shared tender words for her family — her mother, siblings, and partner Kevin — who stood by her through every challenge. “You have been my calm, my strength, and my constant reminder that love is the best foundation of all,” she wrote to him.

Beyond the crown

Closing her message, Joy left words that resonated deeply with her followers:

“The true essence of a queen is not measured by the glamour the stage brings, but by how she raises her voice for her people, champions her nation, and leads with unwavering purpose.”

She ended her statement by honoring the very spirit that guided her journey:

“The Filipinos and the Philippines are my true Silver Lining.”

With that, Joy Barcoma steps forward from Miss Earth not as someone who fell short of a crown, but as a woman who found her purpose beneath its light.
