The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) partners with the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman for the launch and demonstration of M/B Dalaray, the country’s first locally developed electric passenger ferry for inland waterways or e-ferry, at Plaza Mexico in Intramuros, Manila, on Monday, 6 October 2025. Developed by Dr. Lew Andrew Tria and his research team at the UP Diliman Electrical and Electronics Engineering Institute, the e-ferry will operate on a route similar to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority’s (MMDA) ferry system, which connects Pasig, Makati, Taguig, Mandaluyong, and Manila. The DOST said the project aims to help decongest Metro Manila and provide commuters with an alternative mode of transport. M/B Dalaray, which means “flow of current,” is powered by twin 100-kW electric motors, built with a marine-grade aluminum structure and a hybrid solar inverter system. Mananatiling suspendido ang biyahe ng Pasig River Ferry Service dahil sa inaasahang epekto ng Super Typhoon Uwan sa Metro Manila sa darating na Lunes 10 Nobyember ayon sa Metropolitan Manila Development Authority

Sa isang abiso nitong Linggo, nanawagan ang MMDA sa publiko na mag-ingat at manatiling updated sa mga ulat ng panahon.

Una nang sinuspinde ng Pasig River Ferry Service ang mga biyahe nito noong Sabado matapos ilagay ang Metro Manila sa ilalim ng Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1.

Batay sa 11 AM cyclone bulletin ng PAGASA, nasa ilalim na ng TCWS No. 3 ang Metro Manila habang nananatili ang lakas ng Uwan. Inaasahan ang super typhoon na tatama sa kalupaan sa gitnang bahagi ng Aurora sa Linggo ng gabi o maagang Lunes ng umaga.

Sinuspinde rin ng MMDA ang pinalawak na number coding scheme sa Lunes. Mas maaga ngayong araw, inihayag ng Malacañang ang suspensyon ng trabaho sa pamahalaan sa siyam na rehiyon sa Nobyembre 10 at ng mga klase sa 12 rehiyon sa 10 hanggang 11 Nobyembre dahil sa epekto ng super typhoon.
