The Philippine Navy on Sunday placed BRP Bacolod City on standby for possible humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) missions in areas affected by Super Typhoon #UwanPH.

Currently docked in Cavite City, the BRP Bacolod City (LS-550) serves as a transport ship for the Navy.

Personnel from the Marine Battalion Landing Team-3 (MBLT-3) loaded relief goods onto the vessel, which were consolidated by the Civil Military Operations Group – Philippine Navy, for delivery to areas affected by Typhoon #TinoPH in Cebu.

“Once weather conditions improve, BRP Bacolod City will immediately proceed with its relief transport mission to bring much-needed aid to affected communities,” Public Affairs Office chief Commander Maria Angelica Sisican said.

She added that the Navy stands ready to serve the Filipino people in times of disasters.

“The Philippine Navy remains steadfast and ever ready to serve the Filipino people, extending swift assistance and unwavering support in times of calamity and need,” she said.
