Vice President Sara Duterte on Tuesday reminded Filipinos to remain vigilant and follow safety advisories from authorities as Typhoon Tino continues to affect parts of the country, saying that everyone's safety remains the government’s top priority during this time.

Duterte reminded the public to stay indoors and away from glass windows, prepare their go-bags, food, water, flashlights, batteries, and first aid kits, and unplug electrical devices to avoid power surges and possible electrocution.

The Vice President also urged the public not to travel or leave their homes until roads are declared safe by authorities and to move to higher ground if living in flood-prone or low-lying areas.

She also urged residents to stay alert and listen to news and announcements from PAGASA, and assist children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) said that its Disaster Operations Center is ready to provide support and augment the disaster response operations of the local government units.
