LTFRB orders swift complaints’ resolutions

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has ordered all its regional directors to immediately respond to concerns and complaints from commuters.

The directive, which aims to maximize the use of the LTFRB Hotline, 0956-761-0739, is in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s instructions to improve government services.

LTFRB chairperson Vigor D. Mendoza II stressed the need for the agency to be responsive and act fast on complaints, noting that all are related to road safety and driver discipline.

“We will change the old system where action on the complaints of our ordinary commuter citizens takes too long or sometimes does not happen at all. This is no longer acceptable under the New Philippines,” Mendoza said, stressing that the hotline is a crucial platform to show the public the agency is responsive.

He also committed to personally monitor the compliance and complaint resolution rates of every regional office.

Mendoza urged the public to report any abusive driver of public utility vehicles (PUVs) through the hotline.

He cited a recent example where the LTFRB immediately summoned a bus company and its driver for attempting to evade accountability after sideswiping a motor vehicle in Quezon City.

“Our efforts to ensure the safety of all road users always start with the trust and confidence of the people that the national government, in this case through the Department of Transportation and LTFRB, will be responsive to their complaints and will not fail them,” he stressed.
