Kanlaon Volcano reportedly emitted ash again on Sunday afternoon, 2 November, according to PHIVOLCS.
The ash emission began at 1:48 p.m. and ceased at 2:25 p.m.
“This event generated grayish plumes that rose approximately 400 meters above the crater before drifting southwest, as recorded by the Kanlaon Volcano Observatory–Canlaon City (KVO-CC) IP camera,” PHIVOLCS said.
Alert Level 2 remains in effect, meaning the volcano is under a moderate level of unrest and magma may be rising toward the surface, but it is not yet erupting. Residents are advised to avoid the 4-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ) due to possible sudden steam-driven or phreatic eruptions.
