Known as an esteemed guidebook for world-class restaurants and hotels, the Michelin Guide has finally made its mark in the Philippines, awarding nine Filipino restaurants its highly coveted stars.
During the Michelin Guide Ceremony: Manila and Environs & Cebu 2026, held on 30 October at the Manila Marriott Hotel in Newport World Resorts, Filipino taste and culture took center stage.

This marks the first time the Michelin Guide has awarded stars in the Philippines, though Filipino cuisine has already gained international acclaim, with Kasama, a Filipino-owned restaurant in Chicago, earning a Michelin Star in 2022.
In the official Michelin Guide announcement, Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guide, said:
“This selection pays tribute to a new generation of Filipino and international chefs who have embraced the Philippines — drawing inspiration from local heritage, bold flavors, and heartfelt hospitality.”
