BAGUIO CITY — Starting today, October 29, 2025, the Police Regional Office (PRO) Cordillera will deploy 1,371 personnel to cemeteries across the region to ensure the safe and orderly observance of All Saints Day and All Souls Day.

PRO Cordillera Spokesperson PLt.Col. Roy Augustus Calulut said personnel will also be stationed at tourist destinations, where a surge of visitors is expected during the season. Assistance desks will be established to help the public.

Some 693 personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and various disaster risk reduction and management offices (DRRMO) will reinforce the police. Additionally, more than 800 volunteers—including barangay tanods and members of radio communications groups—will assist in different areas.

Calulut reminded cemetery goers that rules and safety measures will be strictly enforced. Bladed weapons, firearms, alcohol, videoke or sound systems, and playing cards are prohibited to maintain the solemnity of the observances.

Meanwhile, in Sagada, Mountain Province, the tourism office announced that the Echo Valley and the Paytokan Walk Tour will close at 4:00 p.m. on November 1, 2025, All Saints Day. Tourists may observe the “panag-aapoy” of Sagada residents at the cemetery but must stay with their guides and avoid disturbing the ceremonies. The tradition involves burning pinewood on the tombs of loved ones instead of lighting candles.
