The Philippine National Police (PNP) will deploy a total of 50,253 police officers nationwide to ensure public safety and security during the observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days, under the “Ligtas Undas 2025” Security and Safety Plan.
In a press briefing held Tuesday at Camp Crame, PNP spokesperson P/BGen. Randulf Tuaño said the police deployment will be reinforced by 16,592 personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
An additional 45,712 force multipliers, composed of barangay tanods, Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs), and volunteers, will also assist in maintaining peace and order across the country.
“Under this heightened alert status, the PNP will increase its personnel strength by 25 percent to reinforce existing deployments in public places such as cemeteries, transport terminals, major roads, and other areas of convergence,” Tuaño said.
He added that Police Regional Directors have been authorized to adjust or expand their deployments depending on the prevailing security conditions in their respective areas.
Meanwhile, PNP Acting Chief P/LtGen. Jose Melencio Nartatez said police presence will be intensified in cemeteries and major highways, particularly in Metro Manila, where large crowds are expected.
“So far, no security threats have been detected,” Nartatez said, “but the PNP will maintain close coordination with other law enforcement agencies and local government units.”
Security operations will focus on five major cemeteries in Metro Manila: Manila North Cemetery, Manila South Cemetery, Bagbag Public Cemetery, Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina, and San Juan Public Cemetery.
To enhance real-time coordination and rapid response, all deployed police personnel will be equipped with body-worn cameras directly linked to the PNP Command Center.
The Unified 911 hotlines and radio networks will also remain active for immediate public assistance.
Additionally, 5,015 Police Assistance Desks (PADS) will be set up in cemeteries, transport terminals, and major thoroughfares, manned by uniformed police officers supported by local volunteers.
The PNP urged the public to cooperate with authorities, follow security protocols, and remain vigilant throughout the long weekend observance of Undas 2025.
