EPD reports 3.45% crime drop after intensified operations

Neil Alcober

The Eastern Police District’s (EPD) intensified operations have resulted in a 3.45 percent drop in crime incidents within a week — from 20 to 26 October 2025 — with index and non-index crimes totaling 18.95 percent, a significant reduction from 22.40 percent recorded between 13 and 18 October 2025.

This decline underscores the effectiveness of EPD’s sustained visibility and operational efforts in maintaining public safety.

In its anti-illegal drugs campaign, the EPD conducted 44 operations that led to the arrest of 52 individuals and the confiscation of 153.48 grams of shabu and 4.96 grams of marijuana (kush), with an estimated street value of P1,044,259.20.

For manhunt operations, the EPD conducted 58 operations, resulting in the arrest of nine top most wanted persons, one most wanted person, and 48 other wanted individuals.

On the campaign against loose firearms, the EPD carried out three operations that resulted in the arrest of three offenders and the confiscation of three firearms.

Meanwhile, the EPD also conducted 14 anti-illegal gambling operations, leading to the apprehension of 25 individuals and the seizure of P4,663 in bet money.

Through consistent foot and mobile patrols, strategic checkpoints, and beat patrol deployment, the EPD has strengthened its presence across Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, and San Juan, effectively deterring crime and ensuring a swift response to emerging incidents.

Coordination with local government units, barangay officials, and partner agencies remains a key component in maintaining peace and order across the district.
