At the heart of the bustling city, peace prevailed in the presence of our Mother Mary during “Himig at Tinig Para Kay Inang Maria,” a benefit concert dedicated to supporting elderly and ailing priests who have devoted their lives to serving the Church and their communities.
People of all ages gathered at the Filinvest Tent in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, on Saturday to celebrate the Month of the Holy Rosary and honor the Blessed Mother, Mary. Priests from various dioceses and regions, including Fr. Itoy Ignacio, Fr. Willie Ramos, and Fr. Joaquin Arada, were present and led the attendees in praying the Mysteries of the Holy Rosary, offering moments of hope, reflection, and spiritual renewal.
The evening came alive with inspiring performances from talented artists and groups such as the Musicam Sacram Ensemble, Las Piñas Boys Choir, The Voices in Harmony, Eric Verde, Lucas DC, Alex Quebral, and Laarni Lozada, who filled the venue with Marian hymns and uplifting Christian music.
Among the highlights was Frenchie Dy’s moving performance. Having experienced Bell’s Palsy three times, she showed through her heartfelt performance how her unwavering faith helped her overcome those challenges.
Angeline Quinto also lit up the night with her performances of I Say A Little Prayer and Ain’t No Mountain High Enough. Before her final song, she shared how “Huwag Kang Mangamba” holds a very special place in her heart. She recounted how, during the song’s recording in 2020, her mother was in critical condition at the hospital.
“Napakalapit sa puso ko ‘tong awitin na ‘to,” Angeline shared. “Yung time na inirecord ko po ang kanta na ‘to,... ay nasa ospital ang Mama Bob. Year 2020. Ang hirap kumanta, ang hirap magtrabaho habang ‘yong nanay mo ay nag-aagaw-buhay sa ospital. Pero noong narinig ko yung kantang ito, nawala yung pangamba ko, dahil alam ko ang Panginoon at ang Inang Maria ay nasa tabi ng Mama Bob.”
More than simply giving thanks to Mother Mary, the night also became a moment for attendees to honor their own mothers who have loved, guided, and stood by them unconditionally through life’s ups and downs. “Himig at Tinig Para Kay Inang Maria” became more than just a concert, it was a night of thanksgiving and devotion to the Blessed Mother that brought comfort and peace to everyone present.
