The Liberal Party of the Philippines (LP) is taking a bold step to revive the spirit of transparency and clean governance with a renewed campaign for integrity and accountability, highlighted by the public release of the Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALNs) of Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan and Mamamayang Liberal Partylist Representative Leila de Lima.
The initiative was part of LP’s event dubbed “Kung Walang Korap, Walang Mahirap: A Fellowship on Integrity, Accountability, and the Continuing Fight for Good Governance,” held at Avire Tower in Cubao, Quezon City.
Pangilinan said the fellowship marks both a symbolic renewal and a practical demonstration of transparency, as new members took their oaths and the party reiterated its commitment to honest leadership—a core tenet since its founding.
LP, which celebrates its 80th anniversary in January 2026, said the public release of the SALNs is a “bold reaffirmation that accountability begins with example.”
“The public release of SALNs, once a norm but now a rarity, is our challenge to all public officials to restore people’s trust through openness,” the party said in a statement.
The event, organized in partnership with Mamamayang Liberal Partylist, also served as a tribute to the late President Benigno S. “Noynoy” Aquino III, honoring his reformist legacy while tackling today’s persistent challenges—from corruption scandals in infrastructure and education to agricultural smuggling and misuse of public funds.
LP President Atty. Erin Tañada opened the program, which also featured performances from stand-up comedian Red Ollero and singer-songwriter Noel Cabangon, both long-time advocates of good governance.
A Pledge of Action followed, led by reform advocates Francis Aquino Dee, Dino de Leon, and Jules Guiang, culminating in a symbolic unity ceremony led by Pangilinan, De Lima, and Tañada.
The event also aimed to attract a new generation of citizens to participate in the continuing struggle for clean and people-centered governance.
