The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced Thursday it is placing all units nationwide on full alert status to ensure the safety and security of Filipinos during the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day or Undas on 1 and 2 November.

PNP spokesperson P/Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño confirmed in a press conference that while no specific threats have been monitored, the police force will remain vigilant and deploy additional personnel nationwide.

Under a full alert status, all police personnel are required to be on duty, with all leaves and absences suspended to maximize police visibility and rapid response capabilities.

“We haven’t received any threats, but the PNP continues its work in intelligence gathering and maintaining order,” Tuaño said.

A total of 31,298 police officers will be deployed across the country to secure 5,065 cemeteries, columbariums and memorial parks. Additionally, 5,169 police assistance desks will be set up to assist visitors and manage crowd flow.

The police effort will be supported by 11,707 personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Philippine Coast Guard. Nearly 30,000 barangay officials and volunteers will serve as force multipliers to help maintain peace and order.

Tuaño reminded the public to coordinate with local government units for cemetery announcements and crowd control measures. For police assistance, he urged the public to use the unified 911 number, noting that the line accepts all calls, not just emergencies.

Meanwhile, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) is intensifying its “Oplan Biyaheng Ayos! Undas 2025” operations, focusing on the roadworthiness of public utility vehicles (PUVs) ahead of the holiday travel rush.

LTO chief Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao ordered the full deployment of LTO enforcement teams across all regions starting Monday to ensure the safety and convenience of travelers, in line with the Department of Transportation’s directive to strengthen public safety measures.
