Nissan is gearing up to introduce the all-new Navara on 19 November 2025, marking the next chapter for one of its most enduring models. Ahead of the reveal, the company has released a short heritage film celebrating nearly four decades of the Navara’s presence in Australia and New Zealand.
Since its debut in 1986, the Navara has grown from a straightforward workhorse into one of the most dependable pickup trucks in the region. Over 420,000 units have been sold across Oceania. The new film, part of Nissan’s “Defy Ordinary” campaign, revisits that legacy, from early mornings on job sites to family road trips.
“For nearly 40 years, Navara has been writing its story alongside Australia’s own evolution,” Andrew Humberstone, managing director of Nissan Oceania, said. “Every generation has learned from the previous one, and every Australian customer has taught us something about what matters most in a ute.”
The upcoming Navara will draw heavily from this heritage while introducing fresh design cues, updated technology, and improved capability. Nissan says the model’s development was guided by insights from hundreds of thousands of customers who’ve used the pickup in all kinds of conditions.
Details about the new Navara’s specifications have not been released yet, but early teasers suggest a tougher exterior with redesigned LED lighting and a bolder front grille. It’s also expected to ride on the same platform as the Mitsubishi Triton, following closer collaboration under the Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance.
After its global reveal in November, the new Navara will roll out to Australian and New Zealand showrooms by the first half of 2026. Other markets, including the Philippines, are likely to follow later in the year or early 2027.
