Listed food and beverage company Century Pacific Food, Inc. (CNPF) is investing about $45 million to acquire and upgrade a fully integrated coconut processing facility in Mindanao, boosting its production capacity and reinforcing its foothold in the global coconut market.
In a stock exchange filing on Thursday, CNPF said the facility in Tupi, South Cotabato, was acquired from Roxas Sigma Agriventures, Inc. through its wholly owned subsidiary, Coco Harvest, Inc. (CHI).
The investment will be financed through internally generated cash flows.
“This acquisition is a milestone for our coconut business and a testament to our commitment to inclusive growth,” said Noel Tempongko, Jr., Vice President and General Manager of CNPF’s OEM Coconut Exports.
“By expanding our capacity in coconuts, we not only enhance our competitiveness in the global coconut industry but also create meaningful economic opportunities for local communities in Mindanao.”
The plant produces high-value coconut products such as coconut cream, coconut milk, virgin coconut oil, and coconut water concentrate. It is CNPF’s third coconut processing facility in the country and is expected to generate around 800 manufacturing jobs in Mindanao.
The company said the planned upgrades will improve efficiency, expand product lines, and enhance the facility’s ability to serve both domestic and export markets.
CNPF entered the coconut category in 2012 as a manufacturer of coconut water for OEM exports and has since expanded its product range and client base across Southeast Asia, including Linaco Manufacturing.
In 2019, it launched a branded coconut line for the domestic market.
Earlier this year, CNPF renewed its five-year, P14-billion supply contract with The Vita Coco Company, Inc., a global leader in coconut water, effective January 2026.
The company now operates three coconut processing hubs—in General Santos, Misamis Occidental, and the newly acquired South Cotabato facility.
