Scattered to widespread rains enhanced by the southwest monsoon or "habagat" are expected to affect parts of Luzon on Thursday, 7 Aug., according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
As of Wednesday afternoon, a low pressure area (LPA) was estimated 245 kilometers (km) east northeast of Virac, Catanduanes, or 370 km east of Daet, Camarines Norte.
Cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rains and thunderstorms are expected in Cagayan Valley, Calabarzon, Aurora, and Marinduque.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila, parts of Visayas, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Central Luzon, Bicol Region, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga, will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.
Palawan and the rest of Mindanao, on the other hand, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
PAGASA said the LPA being monitored inside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) has a low potential of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
Another LPA was also spotted outside PAR.
