A food processing facility is a place where raw ingredients are transformed into edible food products or ingredients.
These facilities handle a variety of processes, including cleaning, cutting, cooking, and packaging, to create shelf-stable and convenient food items. They play a crucial role in the food supply chain, ensuring food safety, extending shelf life, and meeting consumer demands for variety and convenience.
The Philippines has a large and important food processing industry, encompassing various sectors like beverages, meat and poultry, and seafood.
This industry provides employment opportunities and drives economic growth. Recent developments include a major Thai agri-food company, Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF), planning to establish a food processing facility and distribution network in the country.
