Lighting the way: PSTD turns 60

The Philippine Society for Talent Development (PSTD) just blew out 60 candles — and lit a fire under the country’s learning and development scene.

At the official launch of its diamond anniversary celebration and its upcoming 50th National Convention, PSTD proved it’s not slowing down anytime soon.

Hosted in partnership with the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), the event was all about future-ready learning, bold ideas, and building communities that grow together.

“For anyone trying to keep up with today’s whirlwind of change, PSTD’s message is clear,” said PSTD President Rinah Rivero. “Learning and development isn’t a back-office function anymore — it’s a make-or-break strategy.”

Rivero added that for six decades, PSTD has been the go-to hub for talent development pros, training trailblazers, and HR champions. “We’ve helped shape industries, guided leaders, and raised the bar for professional learning. And we’re just getting started.”

This year’s theme? “ABLAZE: Illuminating Talent Development Pathways.” And that’s exactly what they’re doing — lighting the way for what’s next in L&D.

Rivero says it best: “This milestone isn’t just about celebrating the past. It’s a rallying call for professionals everywhere to move forward — with us.”

With regional chapters expanding and new partnerships taking shape, PSTD is setting the stage for a bigger, bolder learning movement.

“Whether you’re in HR, a team lead, a subject matter expert, or just passionate about growth — there’s a seat for you at our table,” Rivero added.

That seat could be in Cebu City, where PSTD is hosting its 50th National Convention on 27-29 August. The lineup? Think powerhouse keynotes, hands-on workshops, and brain-tingling conversations on everything from digital skills and leadership to mentoring and building culture that lasts.

And the best part? It’s not just talk.

“This convention is about walking away with real tools and insights you can actually use,” Rivero said. “Whether you lead a small team or drive transformation across continents, you’ll find value here.”
