It was a weekend of big lessons and even bigger comebacks at Round 2 of the F.C.C. Honda Pilipinas Dream Cup (HPDC), held at Tarlac Circuit Hill. With unpredictable weather and tighter battles, the country’s top young riders, aged 10 to 15, showed just how quickly they’re learning to race and rise.

In a tight qualifying session, #3 Travis Canoy Jr. led the charge with a fastest lap of 1:19.499. He was trailed closely by #5 Ronald Galzote and #9 Vash Travis Aguilar, with all three riders showing aggressive intent right from the start. The changing weather added a layer of difficulty, turning the session into a test of both raw speed and adaptability.

Race 1 opened with drama. Pole-sitter Canoy went down at Turn 1 after a bold start, ending his race before it really began. The crash reshuffled the pack, and it was #11 Renzzy Gabrielle Vigo who held steady to claim the win. Galzote, after briefly challenging for the lead, settled for second place. The surprise of the day was #13 Melchyzedek Jacob Ngo, the youngest rider on the grid, who earned his first-ever podium finish with a strong third place.

Determined to recover from his earlier crash, Canoy returned in Race 2 with sharp focus. What followed was a back-and-forth battle with Vigo, with the two swapping positions through the final lap. In the end, Canoy edged ahead to seal the win and put himself firmly back in the championship conversation.

With two rounds completed, the standings are beginning to take shape, but it’s still anyone’s game with more races to come. Vigo, Galzote and Canoy have each notched important results, but younger riders like Ngo and Aguilar are quickly gaining ground.

For these young racers, HPDC offers a great opportunity. It’s where confidence is built, where first podiums are earned, and where future champions start taking shape.

Backed by Honda Philippines and a strong roster of partners, F.C.C. Philippines, HJC Helmet, Alpinestar Philippines, MTRT Philippines Racing Boy, NGK Spark Plugs, RK Takasago Chains, and Romy Lanceta Trucking Corporation, the HPDC continues to fuel dreams, one round at a time.
