Malacañang Palace has suspended government work and classes in Metro Manila, parts of CALABARZON, and Central Luzon due to the continuous rainfall brought about by the Southwest Monsoon beginning 1 PM, Monday, 21 July 2025.
Among the areas suspended include the provinces of Cavite, Rizal, Batangas, Laguna, Bulacan, Pampanga, Zambales, and Bataan.
According to Memorandum Circular No. 88, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, concerned agencies that deliver deliver basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities and other vital services are directed to continue their operations and render necessary services.
Meanwhile, the decision to suspend work for private companies and offices are left to the discretion of their respective heads.
State weather bureau PAGASA, earlier warned of possible floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains in Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Benguet, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Oriental Mindoro and possible floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy with at times intense rains in Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro areas.
