Watsons Philippines is taking its commitment to sustainability beyond the shelves with the launch of its latest campaign, “Hand in Hand For Good,” a nationwide effort aimed at empowering communities, reducing environmental impact and promoting ethical consumerism.
The campaign, which builds on the company’s previous environmental and community outreach programs, reflects the growing demand from consumers for brands that mirror their values.
“Today’s consumers want more than quality products; they want to support companies that care,” said Sharon Decapia, senior assistant vice president for Marketing, PR and Sustainability at Watsons Philippines.
At the core of the initiative are three pillars: People, Planet and Products. Each reflects a different area of engagement, from healthcare access to sustainable shopping practices.
Watsons said it continues its support for underserved communities through its Alagang Pangkalusugan medical missions and its partnership with Operation Smile Philippines, which funds cleft surgeries for children. The retailer also involves its employees in volunteer efforts such as community outreach and environmental cleanups.
Environmentally, the company has begun outfitting its stores with solar panels, inverter technology, and LED lighting to cut energy use.
It encourages customers to bring reusable bags and dispose of used product containers in-store via the Recycle for Rewards program, which offers points or discounts in return.
Consumers are also encouraged to make more sustainable choices by purchasing products from local eco-entrepreneurs or those that support tree planting and healthcare programs.
Decapia said the campaign is a reflection of the company’s broader belief that “every act of care, big or small, makes a difference.”
The company’s motto, “Look Good. Do Good. Feel Great.,” has become more than just a slogan, she added — it’s now a guiding principle behind the company’s evolving identity as a sustainability-driven retailer.
With more “green stores” planned across the country, Watsons hopes to turn daily errands into opportunities for environmental action and social impact.
