At least 356 houses were damaged by Tropical Storm “Crising” in several regions, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) said Saturday.
Of the damaged houses, 307 were partially damaged and 49 were totally destroyed, according to DHSUD regional offices.
Region VI reported the highest number of damaged homes with 183 units, followed by Region IX with 87 and the Negros Island Region with 65.
DHSUD requested 5,000 shelter-grade tarpaulins from the International Organization for Migration to aid affected families, especially in Region VI and the Negros Island Region.
DHSUD Undersecretary for Disaster Response Henry Yap said the agency is coordinating with local governments and other agencies to implement the Integrated Disaster Shelter Assistance Program (IDSAP).
“In compliance with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., we should start preparing the necessary post disaster assistance to affected families,” Undersecretary Yap said.
“It is important that we remain proactive for the timely delivery of our assistance,” he added.
The IDSAP provides cash assistance of ₱30,000 for families whose houses are totally damaged and ₱10,000 for those with partial damage.
DHSUD also previously distributed home materials and essentials to typhoon victims.
The agency leads the national government shelter cluster under the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council memorandum, responsible for post-disaster housing assistance.
