Sto. Domingo, Nueva Ecija — Six barangays in this agricultural town now enjoy smoother and safer roads following the completion of nearly two kilometers of road construction projects by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
According to the DPWH’s Nueva Ecija 1st District Engineering Office, the newly paved roads—spanning a total of 1.91 kilometers—were rolled out to ease transportation challenges for farmers and improve connectivity for residents.
“These infrastructure developments are designed to improve transportation within and between barangays—ensuring smoother movement of people and goods. By prioritizing road access, we are addressing the daily needs of our communities, especially farmers and residents who heavily rely on dependable transport routes,” said District Engineer Jun Vana.
The new road segments include 404.5 linear meters in Barangay Baloc, 396 meters in Barangay Burgos, 389 meters in Barangay Pulong Buli, 331 meters connecting Barangays San Manuel and General Luna, and 390 meters in Barangay Buasao.
Funded under the 2025 national budget with a total cost of P24.3 million, the projects were implemented through the DPWH’s Basic Infrastructure Program (BIP) and Sustainable Infrastructure Projects Alleviating Gaps (SIPAG).
The roads are expected to not only ease travel for motorists and students but also support farmers in transporting produce to markets more efficiently—ultimately boosting access to essential services and stimulating local economic activity.
