Arlan Arbios and Maricar Camacho shone the brightest in Leg 3 of the Sante Barley Trilogy Run Asia presented by HOKA and GoMo on Sunday at SM Mall of Asia Complex.
The two proved to be the fastest in the 32K category as they stamped their class in the 12,000-strong field in this continuing 15th year celebration of premier race organizer RUNRIO.
Arbios clocked in at one hour, 52 minutes, and 28 seconds to pace the men’s division, almost two minutes faster than runner-up Edsel Moral (1:54:35) and third placer Mark Anthony Oximar (2:09:46).
Camacho, on the other hand, timed at two hours, 21 minutes, and 29 seconds, ahead of Eloisa Cusi (2:22:59) and April Rose Diaz (2:26:06).
Eduard Flores (1:13:27) and Jessa Mae Roda (1:36:42) had the best times in the 21K race, with James Kevin Cruz (1:20:39) and Christian Benedict Tecson (1:29:51) making the podium in the men’s division, while Rosalie Mae Capucion (1:38:49) and Jenalyn Galvez (1:40:38) getting to the top three in the women’s division in this race which has Gatorade as official sports drink, Le Minerale as official hydration partner, Seiko Prospex as official timing partner, NYXSYS as official media partner, SM MOA Complex as venue partner, PAGCOR as gold sponsor, and supported by the Department of Tourism.
Vincent Arvin Avestruz (33:52) also ruled the men’s 10K, followed by Ritchie Estampador (36:08) and Abraham Formanez (38:21) among the males, while Asia Paraase (40:11) crossed the tape first among the females ahead of Shiekhy Heart Supremo (43:29) and Jo Punay (45:00).
Noli Torre (16:02) had the best time among men’s 5K, faster than Justwin Guerrero (17:08) and Brandon Aydlett (19:31), as Lezamy Sanita (20:21) got the best time among the women ahead of Shaira Mae Fantilaga (20:30) and Elleiot Abat (25:01).
It’s a promising buildup with other third legs set to be held in Cebu, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro and Davao before the National Finals on 9 November.
