BAGUIO CITY — Another complaint filed against Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong was dismissed by the Office of the Ombudsman.
Magalong was charged for allegedly violating provisions of the Anti-Graft and Corruption Law or the Republic Act 3019, which is a criminal case and grave misconduct, grave abuse of authority and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service.
The charges were filed by then Councilor Mylen Yaranon in January 2024 before the Office of the Ombudsman, accusing the mayor of discrepancies over the purchase of lots at Tupinao, Tuba, Benguet.
Yaranon was questioning the legality of the transaction of Magalong and the owner of the lots, claiming it was not authorized by the City Council. She also asserted that the supposed housing project at Tupinao, Tuba is not part of the five-year development of the City Government of Baguio.
