Local officials from Camarines Norte and Nueva Ecija have expressed gratitude to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. following the recent turnover of new ambulances under the government’s nationwide healthcare initiative, according to Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro.

At a Friday press briefing at Malacañang, Castro said that San Vicente, Camarines Norte Mayor Mariano “Bong” Palma extended his thanks to President Marcos for the ambulance awarded to their municipality, calling it a major boost to local health services.

Gen. Tinio, Nueva Ecija Vice Mayor Melvin Pascual also shared his appreciation, supporting the initiative’s goal to enhance health services in their locality.

The remarks came after President Marcos led the ceremonial turnover of 387 patient transport vehicles (PTVs) to Luzon-based local government units on 9 July 2025 at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila. The PTV distribution was conducted in partnership with the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) as part of the administration’s effort to improve the country’s emergency medical response system.

According to government data, 680 ambulances have been distributed across the country since 2022.
