Alelee Aguilar, the lone female among the 12 newly elected councilors of Las Piñas City, officially took her oath of office on Thursday after emerging as the top vote-getter in the 2025 midterm elections.
Aguilar, who secured 71,492 votes in District 1 — the highest received by any councilor in the city — was sworn in at the Las Piñas City Hall by Judge Mildred Jacinto Marquez of the Regional Trial Court, Family Court Branch 2.
The ceremony was attended by fellow elected officials including Mayor-elect April Aguilar, Vice Mayor-elect Imelda Aguilar Santos, Congressman-elect Mark Anthony Santos, and councilors-elect Mac-Mac Santos, Robert Cristobal, Henry Medina, Luigi Casimiro, and Macky Saito. First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos also graced the event, showing support for the city’s incoming leadership.
In her speech, Aguilar vowed to push for legislation that strengthens services in education, healthcare, and family welfare, with a special focus on vulnerable sectors such as solo parents, senior citizens, and women.
“I will use my mandate to push for legislative measures that improve services in education and healthcare — especially for the youth, solo parents, senior citizens, and women,” Aguilar said. “As the only female among the twelve elected councilors, I carry the responsibility of ensuring that women’s voices are heard and that the family remains protected through strong, structured social policies.”
Known in the community as “Miss Generosity,” Aguilar has built a reputation through her grassroots programs like the HakHak Challenge and HakHak On-the-Spot, which provide support to small-scale entrepreneurs, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and the elderly.
The 2025 elections marked a sweeping win for Aguilar and her slate, solidifying the political leadership of the Aguilar-Santos alliance in Las Piñas. With the new council set to convene, residents are looking to Aguilar to turn her high mandate into meaningful programs and legislation.
