After celebrating the success of the Philippine Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos took time to explore two pavilions close to their hearts — Italy and the Holy See.
“Explored the Italy and Holy See Pavilions at World Expo 2025 with some of our Japanese and Italian friends,” the First Lady shared on social media.
Italy is special to the couple — it’s where they were married.
“Italy will always be close to our hearts — it’s where my husband and I got married,” she said.
As devout Catholics, the Holy See also holds personal and spiritual significance for the First Couple and reflects the Philippines’ strong ties to the Vatican.
The pavilions showcased rich art, history and culture — themes that resonated with the President and First Lady during an immersive audio-visual experience inside a Roman-style amphitheater.
“Grateful for this beautiful space where art, faith, and innovation come together — and where cultures connect to build a better world,” Mrs. Marcos said.
She ended the visit with a message of gratitude: “Thank you for the warmth and hospitality, Osaka. Domo arigato gozaimasu!”
