Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon led the ceremonial turnover of free “Balik Eskwela” packages for Early Childhood Education (ECED) students on Tueesday, 24 June, as part of the city’s annual back-to-school support initiative for public school learners.

The mayor, in a Facebook post, emphasized the importance of investing in young learners and expressed gratitude to Muntinlupa taxpayers who made the program possible for the third consecutive year.

“‘It takes a village to raise a child,’” Biazon said, quoting the well-known proverb. “That’s why I’m thankful to all the taxpayers in the city. Because of your support, we’ve been able to provide free school supplies for our students for three straight years.”

The initiative ensures that young learners, especially those in critical developmental stages, have access to basic educational materials. The city government, Biazon added, is committed to removing barriers like lack of supplies to ensure a quality learning experience for all.

“Early Childhood Education is a crucial period in a child’s development,” Biazon noted. “We want to make sure that no child is left behind due to something as basic as not having school supplies.”

Parents with concerns regarding the distribution of the free school supply kits are advised to coordinate directly with their children’s schools or assigned Child Development Teachers.

The “Balik Eskwela” program forms part of Muntinlupa’s broader educational support efforts, aligning with its push for inclusive and accessible quality education in all barangays.
