An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) detailed his experience amid the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict, saying the current situation there is "worse" than that of the Israel-Hamas war last year.
Armando Naz, one of the 26 OFW-repatriates from Israel who came home Tuesday night, said it was his first time to hear "four to five" sirens a day in Israel because more missiles are targeting Tel Aviv than last year.
"That was the worst I have experienced because the exhaustion, sleeplessness, and nervousness I felt every time I heard a bomb explode were no joke. It was traumatic," Naz told members of the media.
"That's why I decided to request a repatriation because I was not sure of my safety there," he added.
Naz, who originally hails from Laguna, has been working at a hotel in Israel for more than two years.
He also recounted seeing a lot of Filipinos in Israel who were seeking shelter from Iran's attacks, shaking, in fear for their safety.
"A lot of them really want to go home, want to request a repatriation, but they are also thinking what kind of life awaits them here in the Philippines," he added.
According to government data, there are 29,473 Filipinos in Israel.
Israel's war with Iran entered its second week with the Israeli military chief warning of a "prolonged campaign" and Tehran ruling out further nuclear talks with the United States until Israel halts its attacks.
